What is a Sober Companion?

Sober Companions work with people who are receiving professional medical help i.e. cognitive and behavioural therapy etc. to overcome harmful additions. The Sober Companion helps them to re-enter everyday life and supports them by giving them what support they can to stop them relapsing.

In the past we have worked with several cognitive and behavioural therapy companies who have provided the medical support required by the patient. They have employed one of our CPOs (Close Protection Officers) to act as a Sober Companion for their patients and to assist them to a successful conclusion. Whilst our staff are not trained as professional Sober Companions, they have enjoyed a lot of success in the past, building strong relationships and helping the patients develop good habits such as sports and other healthy activities.
